The annual JDRF Gala series offers sophisticated evening events in four capital cities, with a theme that changes each year. Nearly 2,000 people attend across Australia to publicly support JDRF alongside their peers in the philanthropy and business communities. Collectively, the events hope to raise $1.5 million for type 1 diabetes research.
In 2018, we hope you’ll join us for the sumptuous La Habana, set amongst the laidback elegance of The Old Town dancehalls. We encourage you to let the influences of Cuba inspire your evening wear.
WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT AT LA HABANA?
JDRF Galas are known for their entertainment, fantastic food and wine, and an opportunity to meet others from your city’s corporate elite. Speakers including CEO Mike Wilson will set the scene as to the latest and most exciting endeavours in type 1 diabetes research, and what this means for the 120,000 Australians living with type 1 diabetes.
HOW CAN I MAKE AN IMPACT AT LA HABANA?
- By securing a ticket or table and inviting friends, colleagues and family to join you for an unforgettable evening.
- You can make a direct donation to Fund A Cure. During this part of the evening, you’ll hear a compelling account from a guest speaker living with type 1 diabetes and will then have the opportunity to make a tax-deductible contribution that will drive research progress. Fund A Cure pledges are submitted through your smartphone, with giving levels starting at $100.
- You can bid on a huge range of exclusive money-can’t-buy auction prizes and packages. The excitement of the live and silent auctions is always a source of entertainment.
